The NSR and Impeded Stands Review is on areas that are not under license with legal obligations to be returned to a free growing condition. It is a process where all openings / standard units that are recorded in RESULTS as NSR or IMM (immature stocking status) and have not been declared free growing in RESULTS are reviewed by a professional forester.
Data that is on file but not in RESULTS is updated into RESULTS. If the area meets free growing, the area is declared free growing. Other areas will be given appropriate designation and be scheduled for a treatment / activity in RESULTS.
There are areas that are at a point where it is too costly to do any further treatments / management. On non-obligation openings / SUs, the designations NSR, SR and FG are for management purposes, providing a flag on what actions to take. Areas that will have no further actions are flagged as FG with a written rational placed into RESULTS.
